Zych’s current deal is set to expire at the end of this season, and Villa are keen to secure the highly-rated shot-stopper’s future with an improved contract. Though he has yet to make his senior debut for Unai Emery’s squad, Zych has been included in matchday squads for Champions League fixtures against Bayern Munich and Young Boys.

Last season, Zych gained valuable experience during a loan spell with Polish side Puszcza Niepołomice, where he made 26 appearances and recorded seven clean sheets. With Villa eager to fend off interest from rivals, contract talks are expected to progress in the coming weeks.
