“Baby coach” sir Alex Ferguson slams Erik Ten Hag over poor performance against Arsenal

Ex-United star Rooney urged the Red Devils to finish the season on a high but cast doubt on the future of Ten Hag at Old Trafford. The former Everton man suggested Moyes did a better job in the hotseat in the 2013/14 season than Ten Hag is doing now, despite the outgoing West Ham boss being sacked.

When asked on Sky Sports if he thinks Ten Hag’s job is on the line, Rooney said: “I think they all are. Manager, coaches, players, recruitment, the whole club.

“They’ve obviously got some difficult games coming up, and then they’ve got the FA Cup Final. So for me as a player, now you need to show you where to you want to play for this football club, and you’ve got a big game to end the season against Manchester City, but that has to start from today. You can’t just turn it on in an FA Cup final. So it has to start from today and go on up until our final.

He added: “We finished seventh with under David Moyes when I was here. I know that Moyes lost his job, but it never, ever felt as bad as what it is now.”
