Bruno Fernandes makes his feelings clear on Casemiro and ‘self-inflicted’ mistakes after Man Utd humiliation

Bruno Fernandes has spoken out after Casemiro produced not one but TWO mistakes that led to goals as Manchester United were beaten by Liverpool.

Liverpool ran out 3-0 winners at Old Trafford on Sunday as Arne Slot enjoys a stunning start to life as Liverpool boss.

Luis Diaz scored his side’s first two goals before Mohamed Salah added a third in the second-half.

After the game, Man United fans made their feelings clear towards Casemiro, who was at fault for two Liverpool goals.

He carelessly gave the ball away for the visitor’s first goal then lost possession for their second strike.

But Fernandes refused to pin the blame on the veteran Brazilian as he jumped to the defence of his teammate.

Speaking after the result, the Man United captain said: “The goals are always self-inflicted. You need to commit a mistake to give them the goal. We don’t need to be pointing fingers at everyone. that won’t help us now.

“When you concede a goal, you can’t just point at one mistake. What’s the point in saying Casemiro lost the ball or Kobbie [Mainoo] lost the ball? They lost the ball because they wanted to be brave. It’s part of football. Don’t make it individual.”

He added: “Casemiro is more experienced than me. I don’t need to tell him anything, he knows what football is about.

“He’s played for the two best clubs in the world.”
