Bruno Fernandes sends Man United ace Alejandro Garnacho two-word message after goal vs Man City

Bruno Fernandes has sent a two-word message to Alejandro Garnacho after Manchester Unitedlost the Community Shield to Manchester City on penalties. Garnacho, who started on the bench at Wembley, came on and made a stellar contribution during his time on the pitch.

With the game goalless heading into the final 10 minutes, Garnacho managed to find the all-important breakthrough. A fine threaded pass from Fernandes found the Argentine free on the right-hand side. He stood up his marker before driving inside and drilling a fine low effort into the bottom corner.

It was a terrific strike from Garnacho and means he has now scored in successive matches for United after finding the net in the FA Cup final back in May. Despite that, Erik ten Hag’s side could not hold on to win the Community Shield for the first time in eight years, as City scored an 89th-minute equaliser.

Speaking after the game, Ten Hag admitted he can take positives from the performance heading into Friday’s Premier League opener against Fulham at Old Trafford: “The league start is the most important. I think we can take a lot of positives from this game, and it will give us confidence but also a little bit of pain in our stomach.

“When you are twice leading – in the game and in the penalties – then you have to feel the pain. We were very close but [did] not [win] a trophy.”
