Gary Lineker fears he could ‘upset’ Man Utd fans after naming potential next manager to replace Erik ten Hag

Gary Lineker joked about potentially ‘upsetting’ Erik ten Hag again, when discussing who could potentially take over at Old Trafford next season.

Ten Hag’s position as United manager is currently in an extremely ambiguous state, as it was reported he would be sacked despite winning the FA Cup for the club.

The Dutchman’s side ran out 2-1 winners against Man City at Wembley, with goals from teenagers Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.

Following the game, Lineker received backlash alongside Alan Shearer for their post-match interview with Ten Hag on the BBC.

In the interview, Ten Hag was grilled by the pundits over his future and United’s poor performances despite having just lifted the FA Cup.

Following the match, reports still suggest Ten Hag will be leaving the club despite his victory which would make him the second Premier League boss to lose his job unexpectedly.
