Manchester United in pole position for controversial Bayer Leverkusen deal – to sign one of the quickest players in Europe: report

After his success at Bayer Leverkusen, Manchester United may be about to bring one of the fastest players in Europe to Old Trafford.

With a 5-0 victory over Werder Bremen, Xabi Alonso’s team lifted the Meisterschale to secure their first-ever Bundesliga title this past weekend. Many of the top players on the continent have chosen Die Werkself as their summer picks since they are currently undefeated in every competition and aiming for a historic treble.

Plans are in place for a big summer at Old Trafford despite the uncertainty surrounding Erik ten Hag’s future. Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the new owner, has his sights set on a Bayer Leverkusen speedster for his revolution.

According to Caught Offside, Alonso’s flying right-back Jeremie Frimpong is expected to sign a contract with Manchester United. This would undoubtedly cause some controversy on the opposite side of the soggy city.

The 23-year-old started his career at Manchester City’s illustrious academy, yet according to official Bundesliga statistics, he is the ninth-quickest player in all of Germany. Frimpong, who started on the Eastlands production line at the age of ten, looks to still be of interest to City.

Frimpong would be a terrific addition to United, in FourFourTwo’s opinion. Red Devils analyst Matty Holt recently highlighted Frimpong as the ideal right-back to develop around. He still has his whole career ahead of him at 23.
