October 26 – Brady Skjei netted the game-winning goal at 13:07 of the third period, leading the Nashville Predators to a 3-2 comeback victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday night in Chicago.
Skjei fired a wrist shot from the top of the left circle on a power play, taking a return pass from Tommy Novak and threading the puck through traffic. His goal capped a two-goal rally, snapping Nashville’s early-season losing streak with a second consecutive win.
Gustav Nyquist contributed a goal and an assist, while Filip Forsberg added to the scoresheet with another goal. Alexandre Carrier notched two assists, and Juuse Saros recorded 27 saves, securing the win for Nashville.
Chicago’s Craig Smith opened the scoring at 2:55 in the first period, finishing off a setup from Lukas Reichel on a two-on-one play. Rookie Connor Bedard extended the Blackhawks’ lead to 2-0 with a goal early in the second period, redirecting a centering pass from Alex Vlasic past Saros.
The Blackhawks nearly went up 3-0 midway through the second on a power-play goal by Teuvo Teravainen, but after a challenge from Nashville, the play was ruled offside, giving the Predators the boost they needed to rally.
Just minutes later, Forsberg narrowed the deficit to 2-1, breaking through two defenders to beat Mrazek. Nyquist’s contributions helped Nashville turn the tide, ultimately securing the comeback win.
