Three of the worst stats from Manchester United’s nightmare at Selhurst Park

It was a depressing Monday night for Manchester United at Selhurst Park, with our heaviest defeat of the season leaving us eighth in the table with just three league matches left to play.

The season collapsed bit by bit since the beginning of the campaign.

There was misery in Europe, upset in the League Cup earlier rounds and shocking league form until Christmas.

Sadly, United never got going and there is no denying that injuries have been a huge factor.

It is so bad right now that I wish the season was over – but we need to stick it out for a bit before a trip to Wembley, which we have low expectations for after a run of poor results in the Premier League.

On Monday night, we faced a well-drilled Crystal Palace team with Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise causing havoc down the wings.

The Eagles were deserving of their three points on the night. United lost 4-0 and failed to land a single punch on Oliver Glasner’s side.

Here are some of the depressing stats that emerged from a night that most Reds will want to move on from as quickly as possible…

Crystal Palace complete first Premier League double over Manchester United

To add to the misery of losing 4-0, Palace recorded a first-ever league double against United. It was also their first sequence of three consecutive home victories since October 2022.
