What Kylian Mbappe announcement means for Man United as PSG replacement ‘named’

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly eyeing a swoop for Manchester United-linked Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as Kylian Mbappe’s replacement this summer.

In a video posted on Mbappe’s Instagram account, the 25-year-old announced his decision to leave the French giants after seven seasons at Parc des Princes, and is expected to join Real Madrid. Sitting down to publicly explain his decision, he said: “Hi everyone, it’s Kylian. I wanted to speak to you.

“I always said that I would speak to you when the time comes and so I wanted to announce to you all that it’s my last year at Paris Saint-Germain. I will not extend and the adventure will come to an end in a few weeks. I will play my last game at the Parc des Princes on Saturday. It’s a lot of emotions.”

According to RMC Sport, PSG boss Luis Enrique sees Kvaratskhelia as the ‘perfect candidate’ to fill in for Mbappe. The club chiefs are said to have travelled to Italy to meet up with the winger’s camp.

He was left ‘enthusiastic’ after negotiations that have been described as ‘positive.’ The news poses a major threat to United, Chelsea and Arsenal, who have all been linked with a move for the 23-year-old.

United were claimed to have previously sent scouts out to watch the winger during the November international break.
