The 2024 Buick LPGA Shanghai launches the LPGA Tour’s Asia swing, drawing an 81-player field with elite competitors. Returning champions Danielle Kang (2018, 2019) and Angel Yin (2023) headline the event, joined by nine 2024 LPGA Tour winners like Ruoning Yin and Hannah Green. With $2.1 million in prize money and 500 Race to the CME Globe points at stake, the tournament promises high-stakes competition as players aim to qualify for the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship.
This year’s field also includes three of the top 10 players in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings, including Ruoning Yin (No. 4), Hannah Green (No. 7), and Celine Boutier (No. 9). Notably, there’s strong representation from China, featuring players such as Jinghan Cui, Muni He, and Shanghai’s own Ruoning Yin. Additionally, 11 LPGA rookies will compete, further spicing up the contest.
Sponsor exemptions have been granted to players like Muni He, Danielle Kang, and amateur Menghan Li, adding another layer of excitement to this prestigious event.
